Juggernaut Jocelyn

Jocelyn is pretty much the little engine that could. She always has a modest,
"I'll do what I can" attitude, then blows me away with what she is capable
of doing. So as of right now, I have decided to call her,
JUGGERNAUT JOCELYN... and here is her story:

Jocelyn

Crossfit was always something I was interested in but felt very
intimated whenever I would watch videos
on YouTube. I knew that I wanted to give it a try one day,
but without a Crossfit gym near home/work
(which really shouldn't be an excuse) I didn't put much effort into signing up.
When Sublime opened, less than 5 minutes away from home, I knew I had to give it a try.

Prior to joining Sublime, I worked out at home with my husband.
And I would always watch him do pull ups,
in complete awe, thinking.. one day I'll be able to
do that. And for an entire year, I tried at home.. but everytime
I grabbed on to the bar, I just hung there.. couldn't pull myself up.
It was very frustrating. So for me to say I can now do 5 strict unassisted
pull ups is a HUGE milestone!! You should've seen me the day I was able to do pull ups,
I was on top of the world, and nothing was going to bring me down.

Another huge milestone would be getting stronger and hitting those PRs with
deadlifts, front/back squats. I had set a goal of squatting my bodyweight,
which I thought was a very ambitious goal to begin with but a goal I have reached.

There's no doubt in my mind that any goal I set (next one would be to do my
first muscle up and handstand push up)
can be achieved with the help of the coaches
at Sublime. When you walk into Sublime there is no thought of "I can't".

I love the atmosphere of the gym, how you could be working out at one end of the
building and have others yelling at you to "PUSH" from the other end of the
building.

I love how my focus is no longer on losing weight and slimming down but all about
getting stronger. There's always that fear of not being able to finish that last
rep, but I've learned that that's ok. Having to bail from the last rep only means
you pushed yourself as hard as you could have. And when it happens, Sublime
coaches/members are there to let you know you did an awesome job.

Sorry if this is going long.. I feel like I could go on and on about all the great
things Sublime has done for me. I actually wish I had taken a video of Luke on the
AirDyne yesterday (60secs all out!) with all the members around him, yelling at him,
pushing him to go harder because that is one of the big reasons I love coming to
Sublime. I can't imagine finding that motivation and support else where. And if
others asked me why I love it, I would show them that video.

Sublime has helped me with my overall goal of being better than who I was yesterday,
moving outside my comfort zone and removing the words "I can't" from my vocabulary.

Thanks to the coaches for all support, guidance and motivation,
Jocelyn
