Week Preview March 16-21

Hey there, I know it’s probably been a crazy/scary/uncertain few days for everyone. Every time you open your social media or email it gets a bit more confusing and strange and the world seems to change a little bit more.

From my end, I hope you’ve all had a chance to read the email I sent out. We are a very small business full of people who are very conscientious. Hopefully we are able to remain committed to offering you a place that’s as safe as we can make it, for you to stay as healthy and strong as possible throughout this time. So that “social distancing” doesn’t necessarily have to turn into complete social isolation over the next little bit. I firmly believe that, while we should do everything we can to keep our collective community healthy, we also need to remain dedicated to keeping ourselves as individuals physically and mentally healthy as well.

On a more positive note, we had a spectacular turnout for our Sublime Saturday this weekend. Lots of laughter and fun which was so nice to be a part of. Our big winners (otherwise known as ‘the giants’) were Brent, Dylan and Ryan. Coming in second place were (the ‘regular sized’ people) me, Ludo and Scotty. But the scores were all SO close, which is a very good indicator that people were exceptionally good at choosing the right weights and options for themselves.

OK so next week we have a new cycle starting. Big power lifts are back! We’re getting ready for our strength peak at the end of April with our Feats of Strength event in 6 weeks time. There are lots of options in the program to customize what you are doing to your needs and interests so please ask your coach for help if you are unsure or want to try something different from what they are suggesting. Talk to them, they are there to help you figure it out. If you don’t generally come on Saturdays feel free to do your Bench Press work on Wednesday or Thursday. Just ask your coach.

Also do not worry! You have not heard the last of Coach Stacie in the blog! She will be helping out in the coming weeks and has even been so kind as to provide me with some memes today to keep you amused. Yup that one up there? All her.

Building: Jerk

Being: Add: Hang Squat Snatch & DU’s

Friday

Foundation: SL Band Pull In, Incline Flye, Powell Raise, Deadlift, SL Back Extn., V-ups, Skipping

Building: Snatch, Back Sq

Being: Add: T2B, DU’s

Saturday

Foundation: Bench Press & Conditioning

Lifting: Snatch, CJ, FS

Being: HSW, Squat Cleans, BB OH Walking Lunge
