As of this morning I have 1 spot left for the nutrition coaching program. This week I will be confirming registrations with those who have expressed interest. So, if you’re interested in getting into the program, then act soon to grab that last spot or get on the wait list.
I was asked some good questions this week and wanted to publicly share my answers.
How is food tracked? Portion control, blocks, units etc? I noticed it said “no calorie counting” on the PN site so I was curious..
You are trained in food “hygiene” first. Then, in how to build a meal. With constant reminders about practicing “food hygiene”, because this is the most important stuff. What tends to happen is that you learn a skill set that is adaptable to any situation. And I’ve been testing this stuff out. Between showing up to pizza parties (that I thought were Barbeques), visits to friend’s cabins for the weekend, and working long days. Food hygiene practices are far superior and far more sustainable for life than meal plans, weighing, measuring, etc. When we do measure food it will be using things like hand, fist, scooped handful and thumbs… stuff that you’ve always got on “hand” 😀 Again… this is about practices that will move you toward your goals AND be usable for the rest of your life.
Is this strictly online or does the group meet up?
At this time it is strictly online. I may host some meet-ups if need be. THey will be on a Wed/Thu weekday evening if we do it.
How tailored is the program for individuals?
The program is individualized in these ways: a) You receive the principles and apply them to YOUR life… in other words, you learn the principles and we work on the methods that will work for you (e.g. vegan/omnivore? 3 meals a day/6 meals a day? intermittent fasting? these are all methods, but the principles are adaptable to all of them). b) I am available to consult with when you feel like you’re having a hard time making the principle work in your life… and we work together to find a way for it to happen. c) In the end, you start finding the foods that work for you… taste and feel good to you… and are reasonable to make in your lifestyle/budget/etc….
Would the programming be suitable for vegan diet?
While I am not myself a vegan and have never been one for longer than a one-week trial, the programming will work for a plant-based diet. I have to admit that there will be gaps in my own experience and knowledge, but PN is plant-based-diet friendly and I am willing to help someone on a plant-based diet work on their foundations.
Will I get a meal plan?
No. Meal plans are useful for the highest level athletes dialing in their body composition and training performance, or for those reaching for specific goals quickly. However, they are not sustainable for everyday for the rest of your life. The habits you will learn in this program ARE sustainable for everyday for the rest of your life and can help 99% of us achieve our body composition and performance goals. If you are an elite athlete at <8%/18% body fat year round, then you should work with Tenille to dial in your nutrition. If you are looking to gain or lose a bunch of weight in a short (<3 month) time period, then you should consult with her, too. However, if you are looking for sustainable habits to achieve your goals in the long run, then this course is for you.
That being said, there are recipe and cooking ideas distributed throughout the course… and you are taught how to stock your kitchen and assemble a nutritious meal – both in terms of WHAT and How much to put on your plate.
I hope this helps you in making your decision.
