Some words from Coach Jay:
“The leaderboard was hit by an earthquake today with 17.4 being a two part event (3RM Bench Press and 4 min Sled push for distance) and with each part scored individually…add in that the men’s leader was not in today will make for a very exciting finish to this seasons open.
Special shout out to our old friend Colin Conrad for helping coordinate and judge folks throughout the morning.
Stand-out performances of the week:
Consistency has been the key for Stacie (who is now sitting in 2nd overall), Lisa (3rd overall), Tom (1st place on the men’s side) and Ryan (2nd Overall). None of these 4 have won an event but there performances week after week have been the key to where they sit in the standings.
Ryan also managed to hit a PR today on his bench pushing 150 for 3 on the bench press.
Aaron made a first time appearance today and finishing both workouts in first pushed him all the way up into fourth overall.
As we head into the final event on the Women’s side Cristy has a strangle hold on first with 5 points, with next 4 athletes separated by only 2 points as the fight is on for the podium spots. The men’s side is equally close with the top 4 spots separated by 3 points.
A final note for today….the atmosphere just keeps getting more and more electric. People cheering, shouting, and supporting one another is helping athletes get through all sorts of grinders.
