Meagan The O.G (Original Gangsta)

Meagan is one of the original Sublime members… she has been with us almost since day one. She has become somewhat of a squat master and I’m always happy to see her name on the class list when I am coaching. Here is her story on how she found us…

I have been with Sublime now since they opened in January. Before this – I worked out on my own, and dabbled in CrossFit. For a few months, I went and tried a WOD once, or twice a week. Fast forward 9 months – and I’m going to Sublime 3-4 mornings a week (still no Saturdays – I like my sleep), and running on my own the other 3 days of the week.

When I first started at Sublime, my front squat was 65 pounds. I lacked confidence in a lot of the movements. What I love about Sublime – is that the start was gradual. Every week, movements were added on to, or we would work on a part of a lift – we didn’t “jump” right in, or have to try a snatch our first day out. I never felt as though I was a beginner, or the weakest link. I may not be an expert now – but I am so much more confident in my movements – I can lift more than the bar for a snatch, and I live for squat days.
At Sublime – I look forward to waking up at 6am and doing a WOD before work, or school. As luck would have it – I’m the only person in the 6:30 time slot, but I can still hear the encouragement from others on the last rep of a squat, or advice after a clean.
Physically – I have had results too. I have gained more muscle in places I didn’t have muscle before – helllloooo biceps! I know that if it weren’t for my love of ice cream, iced coffee and anything full of sugar or chocolate – my results so far would be even better. What is especially awesome – is that I don’t care how much weight or inches I’ve lost. I am so proud of the weight I can lift, and what my body can do now. I can’t wait to continue moving forward, and lifting more weight – and one day very soon – getting my first chin up!
I couldn’t be happier that I stumbled upon Sublime’s website, and joined the “gym down my street!”

    Yeah Meagan!!  It’s always fun working out with you-even if I only catch the last half of your workout.
